Hi, I’m Mike.
I’m a coach, facilitator, and software engineer who cares deeply about how people actually experience work — and how the systems around them shape that experience.
I’ve worked inside teams that were incredibly smart and capable, yet still stuck in loops of burnout, misalignment, and miscommunication. On paper, everything looked “Agile.” In reality, people were tired, overwhelmed, and unsure how to change anything without breaking everything.
Over time, I started seeing the same patterns in myself: over-functioning, taking on too much, trying to solve everything through effort and process. Coaching, nervous-system work, and systems thinking gave me a different way in — one that was more honest, more sustainable, and more human.
FORMATIVE Web Solutions is how I bring those threads together for other people and teams. It’s a place where personal growth, team dynamics, and software systems are all part of the same conversation.
The story behind the logo
A simple mark for a not-so-simple idea: humans at the center of complex systems.
The outer ring
The ring represents systems: team norms, org charts, habits, tools, culture. The intentional break is the moment where awareness slips in — the place where “this is just how it is” turns into “maybe it could be different.”
The inner circle
The orange circle is you — your nervous system, your stories, your energy. Coaching keeps that center visible, even while we talk about projects, deadlines, and process.
The space between
My work lives in the space between the two: helping you see how systems and inner realities interact, and running experiments that change both over time.
How I work
Whether it’s 1:1 coaching, team facilitation, or a web tool, the approach is the same: grounded, curious, experiment-driven.
People first
We start with how things feel on the inside — not just what the metrics say. If the work looks good but feels terrible, something is off.
Systems-aware
Personal change doesn’t stick if the surrounding system fights it. We look at incentives, structures, and hidden rules that might be holding patterns in place.
Experiment-driven
Instead of “fixing everything,” we design small experiments that are safe to try and rich in signal — then learn from what happens.
